Two NCAA Div. I, two USHL coaches head to Elite Edge Hockey showcase   
FOUR MORE COACHES have signed on to visit the Elite Edge Hockey Showcase (June 15-18, 2014 - A-Game Sportsplex, Franklin, TN) - bringing the total of visiting teams now at more than 20.
 
Dan Muse (assistant coach, Yale University - NCAA Div. I), Greg Gardner (assistant coach, Princeton - NCAA Div. I), Tom Upton (assistant coach, Cedar Rapids - USHL) and Jason Wolfe (goaltending coach, Des Moines - USHL) are all committed to attending the 2014 showcase, both to work with Elite Edge players and scout prospects for their teams.
 
"I am really happy to have Dan, Greg, Tom and Jason back to Elite Edge again," said Brandon Walker, program director. "They have all been to our program the past and have been great supporters of our program."
 
Muse is back to for his third visit to the Elite Edge Hockey Showcase. He has been at Yale since the 2009-10 season and was assistant coach of the 2013 National Championship team. He also won a gold medal as a member of the coaching staff at the 2013 World Junior Championship.
 
Gardner has been an assistant coach at Princeton University since 2011 after spending five years as assistant coach at his alma mater Niagara. A four-year player at Niagara, Gardner was CHA player of the year and named to CHA all academic team. He played six years of professional hockey after college - including stops in the AHL, ECHL and Europe.

Upton has been to Elite Edge previous summers, but this will be his first visit as assistant coach of Cedar Rapids of the USHL. Prior to joining the Roughriders, Upton was assistant coach at University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point - where he also had a four year playing career for the Pointers.
 
"I am happy and excited to be returning to the Elite Edge Showcase this summer," said Upton. "Elite Edge is one of the top summer showcases in the nation. It is a very valuable opportunity for young talent to be seen in front of junior, college, and professional coaches and scouts. The interaction between the players, parents, and coaches is invaluable for all involved as well as educational for all athletes looking to improve and aspire to play at the highest level."
 
Wolfe comes to Elite Edge after finishing his first year as goaltending coach for the Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL. His playing career included four years at Merrimack College and seven years professional hockey. This will be his third trip to Elite Edge.
 
These four coaches join coaches and scouts from the following teams who have committed to the 2014 Elite Edge Hockey Showcase: Harvard, Holy Cross, University of Alabama-Huntsville, Potsdam, University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Bentley College, Youngstown Phantoms, Lone Star Brahmas, Bismarck Bobcats, Minnesota Wilderness.
 
 
Bauer Hockey partners with Elite Edge     
THE ELITE EDGE HOCKEY SHOWCASE has again joined with the worlds top hockey manufacturer to provide its more than 200 players an opportunity to try the latest in hockey equipment.
 
Elite Edge and Bauer Hockey will be offering a special product testing (The Bauer Experience) to all its players before camp opens on June 15.  The session will be on-ice and will give skaters a chance to try out the latest skates, gloves, sticks and other equipment.  As well, all players will have a chance to be properly fitted for equipment by the Bauer staff and also given a card with their proper sizes for future purchases.
 
"We are extremely excited to be back for another year at the Elite Edge Showcase. It is a great opportunity for Bauer to associate our brand on the grassroots level to an elite group of hockey players," said Justin Bonitatibus, Bauer Hockey US Regional Marketing. "We look forward to offering the Bauer Experience on Sunday morning, giving all players the first-hand opportunity to test out all of our latest products on-ice."
 
During The Bauer Experience, Elite Edge players will have the chance to try out the new Nexus 8000 stick and the Supreme TotalOne MX3 skate. There will be various on-ice interactives' and a radar gun for players' to find out which family of product is right for them. Bauer Fit Experts will help players understand the differences between their "3 Families of Fit."
 
Sessions will be from 9 a.m. to noon and will be 30 minutes in duration, filled on a first-come, first-served registration.  Registration for the Bauer Experience will open in May for all registered players.
 
In addition to the product testing sessions, Bauer will also conduct a seminar to all players outlining their new products and the benefits to all players of proper equipment.  Bauer will also be providing all players with Elite Edge Hockey Showcase dri-fit t-shirts, shorts, specialized high-performance socks, game jerseys and drawstring bags for the camp.
 
"There is no more respected name in the hockey equipment business than Bauer," said Walker.  "To have them associated with our program is outstanding for us and a relationship we value a great deal.  It is something that benefits our players and we are happy to work with them to provide the extra value."
 
The Bauer hockey company is the preferred equipment for several National Hockey League players - including Alexander Ovechkin, Steven Stamkos, Claude Giroux, Henrik Lundqvist and Patrick Kane.
 
Three more college commitments signed  
THREE GRADUATES OF THE ELITE EDGE Hockey Showcase have signed college commitments in the past few weeks - adding to the growing list of alumni continuing their careers playing college hockey.
 
Jake Kamrass - 1994, Norcross, GA - has committed to UMass-Lowell for the upcoming season.  Kamrass has played the last three seasons with the Topeka Roadrunners (NAHL) and had 59 points in 60 games this season. 
 
"Jake's developments have been outstanding," RoadRunners' Head Coach and General Manager Scott Langer told Viewfrom123.com. "His high end work ethic and commitment to improvement have elevated him to one of the best players in the North American Hockey League."
 
Corey Lauer - 1994, Mt. Juliet, TN - signed his paperwork with SUNY Cortland and will play at the NCAA Div. III school for the next four years.  The 6'2, 190-lbs defenseman had 13 points in 55 games this past year with the Lakeshore (Toronto) Patriots of the Ontario Junior Hockey League. 
 
"I first met Joe Cardarelli (SUNY-Cortland assistant coach) at Elite Edge a few years ago and he remembered me this year when he was recruiting," said Lauer.  "I am very thankful for the opportunity and hope that other kids see this and it makes them realize they can make it to college hockey one day too."
 
Thomas Crabtree - 1993, Knoxville, TN - has committed to SUNY Canton for 2014-15 and beyond.  He has played the last two years with the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers for the past two seasons.  In two years he has played 85 games with 39 points. 
 
"I am very excited about the opportunity to continue my hockey career at SUNY Canton," said Crabtree.  "It has been a dream of mine to play college hockey and I would like to thank everyone who has helped me along the way."
 
The commitments of Crabtree, Lauer and Kamrass are in addition to fellow Elite Edge alumni Josh Kestner (University of Alabama Huntsville), Mitch Eliot (Michigan State), Aaron O'Neill (University of New Hampshire), Ted Rotenberger (University of Alabama Huntsville), Connor Wood (University of Alabama Huntsville) and Mitch Fossier (Maine University).

is the premier destination for players born between 1995 and 2000 who are looking to be seen by more than 50 teams at all levels of college/junior hockey.
